News & UpdatesMuslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Abuja Branch, Embarks on Ramadan Outreach Initiatives

March 21, 20250

The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), Abuja Branch, has embarked on a series of charitable initiatives to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan, reflecting their commitment to community service and member welfare.

On March 17, 2025, a delegation led by Branch Secretary Mr. Abdullah Rahaman Isezuo paid a Ziyarah (courtesy visit) to the family of the late Senior Advocate Abdulhameed Muhammed, SAN in Abuja. This visit is part of MULAN’s tradition during Ramadan to honor deceased members and support their families, reinforcing the bonds within the legal community.

During the visit, the delegation offered prayers for the departed soul and presented gift items to the family, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity that Ramadan encourages. Such gestures not only provide comfort to the bereaved but also strengthen communal ties among members.

MULAN Abuja has planned similar visits to other families of deceased members and elderly members of the branch throughout Ramadan. These visits aim to acknowledge the contributions of past members and ensure that their families remain connected to the association, fostering a sense of belonging and continuity.

Extending their outreach beyond the association, MULAN Abuja visited the Heaven Orphanage Home in Abuja. Led by Mr. Isezuo, the delegation donated essential items, including foodstuffs and sanitary supplies, to support the children during the holy month. This act of kindness underscores the association’s dedication to societal welfare and the principles of charity emphasised during Ramadan.

The orphanage visit provided an opportunity for members to engage with the children, offering emotional support and companionship. Such interactions are vital in uplifting the spirits of the less privileged and reinforcing the community’s responsibility towards vulnerable groups.

These initiatives are part of a broader program by MULAN Abuja to positively impact its members and the wider society during Ramadan. By organizing such activities, the association exemplifies the values of empathy, unity, and social responsibility that are central to Islamic teachings.

As Ramadan progresses, MULAN Abuja remains committed to its outreach efforts, planning additional programs that benefit both its members and the community at large. Through these endeavors, the association continues to embody the true essence of Ramadan, fostering a spirit of generosity and communal harmony.
