The Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), FCT Abuja Branch, has officially commenced preparations for what promises to be the most historic event in the history of MULAN, as it inaugurates the MULAN FCT Week Committee.
At its September Monthly Meeting held at the National Mosque Auditorium, Abuja, the branch appointed His Excellency, M.A. Abubakar, SAN, former Governor of Bauchi State and Makama Babba of Bauchi, as Chairman of the General Planning Committee. The Week is scheduled to be held in November 2025, with the theme:
“Law as a Trust: The Muslim Advocate between Divine Accountability and Civil Responsibility.”
Theme of the Week
The theme speaks to the dual weight borne by every Muslim lawyer — the sacred obligation to uphold justice with integrity in line with divine injunctions, while simultaneously honouring their civil responsibilities to society.
It cuts across the ethical, spiritual, and professional dimensions of law, making it an apt conversation for the Muslim legal community.
Acceptance Remarks
The Chairman of the Committee, His Excellency M.A. Abubakar, SAN, in his acceptance remarks, expressed deep gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the Association and described the appointment as a call to service.
He pledged to work with his team to meet the expectations of every member, assuring:
“This is indeed the first of its kind in the history of MULAN FCT Abuja Branch. In Shaa Allah, we will deliver an impactful week that speaks to the professional and spiritual essence of our calling.”
