News & UpdatesNBAWF FCT CHAPTER STATE LEAD CELEBRATES WOMEN’S IMPACT DURING RAMADHAN, CALLS FOR APPRECIATION AND SUPPORT

March 1, 20250

As the sacred month of Ramadan unfolds, the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) FCT Chapter State Lead, Princess Hadiza Afegbua, has delivered a powerful and heartfelt message honouring the indispensable role of women in sustaining the spiritual and communal essence of this holy period.

In her Ramadan goodwill message, she underscored the immense sacrifices women make daily, ensuring a smooth and spiritually uplifting fasting experience for their families and the larger Muslim Ummah. She noted that while fasting from dawn to dusk, women continue to embody unwavering devotion by meticulously managing their households, preparing Suhoor before the break of dawn, and later ensuring a nourishing Iftar for their families. Beyond these physical responsibilities, they remain spiritually steadfast—dedicating themselves to Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers, engaging in acts of charity, and seeking divine blessings through relentless supplications.

Princess Hadiza Afegbua expressed deep admiration for these women, acknowledging their strength, patience, and selflessness. She prayed for Allah’s infinite mercy and blessings upon them, recognizing that their sacrifices—though often unspoken—are divinely acknowledged and generously rewarded.

“In the fabric of our homes and society, women are the pillars of strength, resilience, and faith. Their sacrifices during Ramadan reflect not just physical endurance but also an extraordinary level of spiritual commitment that deserves immense recognition,” she stated.

Furthermore, she made a passionate appeal to men, urging them to actively support and appreciate the efforts of the women in their lives, especially during this demanding period of fasting and devotion. She emphasized that small gestures of kindness—whether through assistance in household duties, words of encouragement, or expressions of gratitude—can have a profound impact on fostering unity, love, and tranquility in the home.

“Ramadan is a time of reflection, empathy, and renewal of faith. As we seek closeness to Allah, let us also cultivate an environment of mutual support and appreciation in our families. To our male counterparts, let us honour and uplift the women who make immense sacrifices daily. Their dedication to ensuring a blessed and fulfilling Ramadan for all of us must not go unnoticed,” she urged.

She concluded her message by calling on all Muslims to maximise the blessings of the holy month through acts of worship, charity, and community service. She encouraged a renewed commitment to Islamic values of patience, humility, and kindness, praying that Allah accepts all supplications and grants peace and prosperity to the Muslim Ummah.
